Joseph M. DeCotiis is
a Managing Partner in the Teaneck office of DeCotiis,
FitzPatrick, Cole & Wisler, LLP.
His focus is mainly on governmental representation
specializing in Public Procurement
and Contracting, Redevelopment Law and authority
representation in both general and special counsel
roles. He has extensive experience in all areas of public procurement, including water and wastewater privatization and redevelopment of former industrial sites. He was in charge of water and/or sewer privatization procurements for the Cities of Elizabeth, Camden, Rahway and Wildwood, as well as for the Township of North Brunswick and the Borough of Keyport. He also is spearheading redevelopment projects in Middlesex County. He has developed an expertise in public/private partnerships and has represented government at every level, including the State of New Jersey and its various public authorities, counties, municipalities and local authorities. In addition, he currently serves as General Counsel to the New Jersey Turnpike Authority where he provided advice with respect to the consolidation of the New Jersey Highway Authority with the New Jersey Turnpike Authority and the refinancing of more than $2 Billion of Authority debt. In addition, Mr. DeCotiis is currently providing advice with respect to the construction of the Driscoll Bridge expansion as well as general day-to-day advice regarding ongoing roadway projects related to the operation of the Garden State Parkway and the New Jersey Turnpike. In 2003, Mr. DeCotiis was appointed Counsel to the New Jersey Democratic State Committee.
