DeCotiis News

On February 18, 2010, DeCotiis’ Green Practice Group completed the first of its kind government financed privately owned and operated renewable energy procurement for the firm’s client the Morris County Improvement Authority.  This unique procurement process will result in the private construction of 3.2 MW of solar energy systems at 19 locations providing renewable energy to five school districts and two other Morris County government entities at an average school district savings of 35% over the utility market rate.

DeCotiis will be assisting the Morris County Improvement Authority in preparing for a second procurement within the next few weeks.  In addition, the firm is working with the Union County Improvement Authority as well as the Somerset County Improvement Authority to develop similar programs, which anticipate issuing procurements this year.
