Mr. Stone has extensive experience in the areas of commercial transactions, financing and real estate and has represented borrowers, sellers and purchasers in the acquisition and financing of commercial real estate as well as landlords and tenants in the documentation and negotiation of commercial lease transactions and commercial landlord and tenant issues. He has been directly involved in negotiating and closing numerous complex commercial transactions involving the sale or purchase of every category of business enterprises as well as advising clients with regard to operational matters and corporate governance issues. These have included agreements between shareholders and members of entities, employment issues and intellectual property licensing issues.
Mr. Stone represented a major condominium developer in Jersey City with respect to the conversion of an existing building into a 240-unit condominium property.
Mr. Stone represented numerous high-tech start-up companies with respect to their obtaining financing as well as advising the companies and their respective board of directors as to operational matters and corporate governance issues.
Mr. Stone also represented a chain of vocational schools with respect to its acquisition by a publicly traded company.
Mr. Stone received his B.A. cum laude in History from the University of Pennsylvania in 1980. He received his J.D. from Tulane University in 1983, as well as an LLM in Taxation from the University of Florida in 1985 and a Masters of Laws in Corporation Law from New York University in 1996. He is a New Jersey native and lifetime resident.
