Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Sassaman worked at Seton Hall’s Center for Policy and Research, where she remains a senior fellow. Her collaborative research and authorship at the Center for Policy and Research has been internationally recognized and has been cited by and included in the Congressional Record of the House Armed Services Committee, the Senate Armed Services Committee and the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Among the Center’s high-profile projects are the world renowned “Guantánamo Reports.” The Reports were developed by systematically analyzing data in over 100,000 pages of government documents procured through the Freedom of Information Act. The reports have been cited by media throughout the world, including numerous television and radio networks, newspapers such as The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, Wall St. Journal, Toronto Star, Guardian (UK), Times of India, Jerusalem Post; magazines such as Time, Newsweek, The New Yorker, Rolling Stone, The Village Voice, Harpers, The Nation, and The Economist; and several Web-based news sources.
Before attending law school, Ms. Sassaman worked as a Licensing Quality Control Coordinator at the National Hockey League. Ms. Sassaman holds a B.S. in Sports Management from New York University, where she graduated cum laude, and a J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law, where she was a Chancellor's Scholar. She is a New Jersey native and lifetime resident.
