Ms. Flynn’s practice primarily consists of civil litigation matters at both the trial and appellate levels, in both state and Federal court. As a member of the firm’s Litigation Group, Ms. Flynn is frequently involved in cases that require intense motion and appellate practice. Her cases involve a broad spectrum of complex legal issues, including constitutional questions, environmental issues, commercial matters, public bidding disputes and public contracting matters. Ms. Flynn has successfully represented a number of the firm’s public clients in public bidding disputes at both the trial and appellate level. Her practice also involves representing the firm’s clients in matters involving Government and Regulatory Affairs.
Representative Cases:
Ms. Flynn was involved in the successful representation of a redeveloper in connection with a hearing following the United States Supreme Court’s decision in Kelo, which involved a challenge to the decision of a municipality exercising its power of eminent domain to take property from a private property owner for purposes of transferring that property to a redeveloper for purposes of redevelopment. The decision of the trial court was affirmed on appeal by the Appellate Division, Vineland Const. Co., Inc. v. Township of Pennsauken, 395 N.J.Super. 230, 928 A.2d 856 (App. Div. 2007).
Ms. Flynn is involved in the representation of a private client in connection with one of the most complex redevelopment projects in the State of New Jersey, providing counsel on potential litigation matters, as well as representing the client in connection with complex regulatory issues, such as transportation, licensing and public safety.
Ms. Flynn graduated from Rutgers University in 1996 with a B.A. in Political Science. As an undergraduate, she was a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society and Phi Sigma Alpha: The National Political Science Honor Society. She was awarded her J.D. cum laude in 1999 from Seton Hall University School of Law. As a law student, she was active in numerous student organizations, including serving as an SBA Senator; membership in the Interscholastic Moot Court Board and the Women’s Law Forum; and acting as a tutor. Following law school, Ms. Flynn clerked in 2000 for Associate Justice Jaynee LaVecchia of the highest court in New Jersey, the New Jersey Supreme Court.
She is currently active in the Nutley Junior Women’s Club and the Women’s Initiative of Nutley and is a member of the Nutley Library Board of Trustees. Ms. Flynn is a New Jersey native and lifetime resident.
