Bart Mongelli is a partner at DeCotiis. He joined the firm as a partner in 2000. He is a member of the Real Estate, Banking and Corporate Law practice groups.
Mr. Mongelli has extensive experience representing banks and bank affiliates in a variety of real estate, construction and term loan financings, involving large apartment complexes and strip malls. In addition, he has expertise in real estate and land use transactions and has represented borrowers, sellers and purchasers in the acquisition, financing and development of commercial real estate, landlords and tenants in the documentation and negotiation of commercial lease transactions and commercial landlord and tenant issues.
In addition to his legal career, Mr. Mongelli is active in a number of nonprofit and political groups. The nonprofit organizations include the Rebeka Verea Foundation and the North Hudson Community Action Corporation Foundation. Mr. Mongelli previously served on the Upper Saddle River Baseball Board and the Paramus Catholic High School Consulting Board.
His political activities included a role as Treasurer of the former congressional campaign of Steven Rothman of the 9th Congressional District of New Jersey. Mr. Mongelli also served as a member of the Borough of Ridgefield Council from 1989 to 1991, President of the Council in 1991, and Police Commissioner in 1990.
Mr. Mongelli received his B.A. in Political Science from Fordham University in 1986. He graduated from Pace University Law School in 1989. He is a New Jersey native and lifetime resident.
