John P. Allen, Esq. is a Partner at DeCotiis, FitzPatrick, Cole & Giblin, LLP and a member of the Corporate and Business Law Practice Groups.

Mr. Allen brings substantial experience counseling businesses and developers on complex local, county, and State government matters, including land use and redevelopment, governmental affairs, employment law issues, and municipal litigation.

Prior to joining DeCotiis, he served as Chief of Staff for the City of Hoboken under Mayors Dawn Zimmer and Ravi Bhalla. As Chief of Staff, Mr. Allen was responsible for the management of all aspects of municipal government, including economic development, emergency services, redevelopment, legal affairs, and labor negotiations.

In addition to his extensive credentials, Mr. Allen is actively engaged in public and nonprofit service, including board-level roles with organizations that promote civic engagement and support individuals with disabilities.
